sli Help: Can't SLI 970's

Hi guys, 

First ever forum post!

I decided to add an additional 970 to my existing Palit GTX 970 to my setup,

CPU: 5820K
RAM 16GB DDR4
GPU: GTX 970 - As mentioned.
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4

New 970 is a Evga 970.

I've tried 3 SLI bridges, no luck. The option for SLI is just grayed out.

I've used a DDU to remove all existing drivers and installed the cards one at a time on the new 373.06 driver.

Each card works perfectly fine on its own.

Google has failed me on this occasion.

Yeah, I've updated my motherboard to the latest F22 Bios, and the card is also running its latest version.

SLI is known to be picky after nVidia added a few more software limitations. It could be any one or more of these reasons

• Different GPU clock frequencies -- make them both the same
• Using the incorrect PCI-E X16 / X8 slots
• (Hate it if it was this) Different manufacturer with different vBIOS -- same manufacturer with different vBIOS can also cause this problem!!
  • e.g. EVGA GTX 970 SSC + EVGA GTX 970 FTW

I'll give changing the clock frequency a go tonight.
According to the Motherboard manual, I'm using the correct PCI slots for 2 way SLI.

I'm considering selling the Palit 970 and buying another EVGA 970 just so they are the same
