Google Chrome launch error

Go to solution Solved by Xiauj,

Yup.

Works now! :D

That sneaky little setting though..... Will have to make it doesn't do that again.

Hello all :), having a bit of a problem on my laptop atm.

Soo... I keep getting a error popup that says "Class not registered" whenever I launch Google Chrome on my taskbar and/or Google Chrome shortcut from the desktop.

I've researched what to do about this and people say to either:

Spoiler
  • Reinstall Chrome
  • Or rename and re-drag the chrome-shortcut from the installation file to the desktop then launch it.

I've done both of these and either won't work; the same error occurs each time; "Class not registered".

Anyone know of an alternative-fix?

Thanks

~Xiauj

Anyone know what to do? :/

Try downloading Chromium and see If the same thing happens.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Ok I just downloaded it from "chromium . org" (Which I assume is their official website?) and it didn't ask me to install it (Assuming it did when I launched it? Maybe?), downloaded as a WinRAR and have extracted it and it runs fine, normal Google Chrome however is still a Nope, same error. :(

Aaaah.... I think I've found the issue. Possibly.

Looks like Google Chrome for some reason has stopped auto-updates. According to the settings/About-section, it says "Version 48.0.2564.97 m" ..!! ¬_¬

I gotta admit, I never realized that Google Chrome had stopped updating, kinda weird as of recently o.O Wonder what triggered that.

I'll try updating it now and posting what it says ^_^
