I was trying to open up Steam butt computer said that there was a side-by-side configuration error. I used the command prompt to scan my computer and it said 

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios.

I have included a photo with the full description of the command prompt. Please, somebody help.

In addition it seems that's cannot run any apps that I have downloaded like Skype and CS:GO

i run Windows 8.1 and ran System File Checker (sfc /scannow) from a administrator command prompt and it found

and could not fix some corrupt system files so i ran this tool from a administrator command prompt it's called

Deployment Image Servicing and Management Tool and it fixed the corrupt files

 

from a administrator command prompt i ran both of these commands notice there is a space between the forword slashes

 

1.dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth

 

after i ran

 

2.dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

 

the restorehealth command can take 20min or more to run do not stop it let it finish

 

then i ran sfc /scannow again and no more corrupt system files

It should work on Windows 10 right?

Yes. Same file system.

After I run the restorehealth command do I just restart my computer or carry on using it

Hey mate, check this thread out on the Windows 10 support forums. Your fix is more than likely there. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/sfc-found-corrupt-files-but-was-unable-to-fix-now/3bb2755f-57d6-401a-aba1-74d1f2c56ae5

 

There are too many possibilities I don't feel like spamming this thread with them (a lot of steps).
