Hello Everyone

I am new to PC building and I am planning my first PC build which I will be building at the end of the year. Here are my chosen parts

CPU:  Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB WINDFORCE OC 6G Video Card

CPU Cooler:  Be quiet! Dark Rock 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-HD3 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Ram:  Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Storage:  Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive +  Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Case:  Deepcool DUKASE V2 ATX Mid Tower Case

PSU:  Corsair CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

My questions are

1) Will the CPU cooler have issues in this build? Will it even fit in the case and will it obscure the Ram?

2) Is the chosen power supply good enough?

3) Do i need to add extra fans? If so how many? How many does the motherboard support

Edit: 4) If i go for a 1070 instead will it bottleneck?

Thanks

you dont need a cpu cooler for the build, they are only really needed for a K skew CPU, the provided cpu cooler will do just fine :), the cxm 550w is alright but ive heard people have a few problems now and then but thats same with most PSUs. no need for extra fans normally, there will be little benefit to the build appart from maybe a degree or two

- SSUPD Meshlicous - Z170I - i7-6700K - Gigabyte 2080 - 16GB Corsair Vengance - 850 EVO 1TB - H115i ICUE Link- SF600

Nah, the cooler is compatible with that socket. Space wouldn't be an issue for it either. If you were building an itx, then you should be concerned. here is the link per gigabyte. http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5641#ov

most mobos support 4-6 fans. You should probably run at least 3. 1 front, 1 back, 1 for the cooler.

use the provided heatsink? he's clearly going to run a gaming computer, not something to do his tax returns on.

It says on the website there are only 2 fan headers? Do i have to get a fan splitter or something then? Thanks

Yes I am going to play games like CSGO and League, and do assignments as well. BTW I checked on the CPU cooler page and it said its dimensions were

Overall dimensions without mounting material (L x W x H), (mm)

97 x 137 x 160

But the case says it only supports 160mm height coolers. Does this mean i have to go for a different one because on the website it says the dimensions without the mounting bracket? Thanks again

the 1070 will not bottleneck with the i5-6500. and for the fans it depends noctua fans for exaple come with a Y-splitter cable in the box, so depending on what fans you will be getting. but yes you would need one

he's using an i5 6500, stock cooler is fine for it, considering he's not going to overclock anyways.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

well the be quiet site stats the height without mounting material.... id suggest something like this

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/rz7CmG/arctic-cooling-cpu-cooler-acfre00004a

the fan will spin only when you put some load on the cpu so silence the fan has an extra 4-pin fan connector so you gain an extra fan connection and the cooler it self is plenti for that cpu

the hyper 212 is 159 so it would fit better for sure. but if you can get the cooler i suggested for a similar price (its 150mm) it performs better would run quieter and gives you an extra fan header just be sure to get the i(intel)32 version if you will go for it

Thanks

I live in Australia though so i will have to pay USD ad shipping too, whereas I can get the hyper in Aus without shipping, so i may go for that

Just look at it like this, the cooler electronics run, the longer they last. You got to protect your investments. That is something people constantly overlook. I'd go with a 212 or a T40 and call it a day. If you really want to spend 80 bucks I'd go with a closed loop just because.
