OK so I have a mini itx pc that I am using right now, but I want to go even smaller.

Current:

  • Intel - G3258

  • 2 x HyperX FURY Series 4GB DDR3 1866MHz CL10 DIMM Memory
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2Gb
  • Asus H81I-PLUS Motherboard

  • 240GB SSD + 120GB SSD

I wish to buy the "Antec ISK110 VESA PC Case Mini-ITX with Power Supply Unit"  (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Antec-ISK110-VESA-Mini-ITX-Supply/dp/B006JKIXJU/ref=sr_1_39?ie=UTF8&qid=1476554984&sr=8-39&keywords=mini+itx+case)

Can I use a "PCIe 1x to 16x  Mining Machine Enhanced Extender Riser Card Adapter with 30cm USB 3.0 Power Cable AC330" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/XCSOURCE-Machine-Enhanced-Extender-AC330/dp/B01ER2Z1GY/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1476556981&sr=1-1&keywords=pcie+riser) to use my GPU outside of the case? (I plan to make an enclosure for it)

So essentially my GPU can be plugged in or taken out if I dont need it?

Yes,

what you have there is essentially a riser card, that boosts power with SATA-Molex power and USB

You can pull your graphics card out and such, but this is a hard PCB, meaning it's going to stay one spot.

this means you would need an actual PCI-E riser cable to legitimately get the PCI-E signal out of the PC

Please tell me if I'm being unspecific, I don't know if I am.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

RAM: 24 Gib Micron (DDR3-1866)

STORAGE: 1x320Gib Wester Digital HDD 1x 2TB Seagate Barracuda

GRAPHICS CARD: Gigabyte Mini ITX OC

POWER SUPPLY: EVGA Supernova 750G

The riser might work, but then the iGPU would likely offer better performance. The riser is designed for mining applications which move a limited amount of data between the cpu and gpu. It uses a single PCIe lane on the motherboard.

There are 16x riser cables. https://www.amazon.co.uk/PCIE-RISER-SHIELDED-FLEXIBLE-EXPRESS/dp/B003ASL6KM/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1476735153&sr=1-5&keywords=pcie+16x+riser is one example. PCIe bus is not designed for long distances so most of these cables are going to be relatively short.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
