You could always drop it to a 32T motor or less. That would be easier on the electronics and give better torque to speed ratio

Okay, couple of questions... first off my SCX10 isnt as fast as i would like it to be, it has a 55t motor right now. I was wondering if it was possible to increase its speed just by changing gearing ratio. Currently it has a 15 pinion and a 87 turn spur. I have a 20t pinion and a 86t spur extra if that helps. I also probably have a 90t spur in a retired chasis i have.

Are you looking to crawl or bash? Or maybe some high speed rough terrain? By changing pinions you are either going to get faster accelerations and lower tops speed or slower accelerations and higher tops speed. For crawling torque is a bigger priority over speed. If you want to go fast why not get a car meant for bashing with independent suspension and a brushless motor?

You could always drop it to a 32T motor or less. That would be easier on the electronics and give better torque to speed ratio

Reducing the number of turns on the motor should increase top speed substantially, at the cost of temps. Gearing will also allow for higher speeds, though this wears brushed motors pretty quickly. You'd want a brushless setup to pull very tall gearing.
