Hi there,

I am building a PC for gaming, I have a budget of around $600.

If you could please leave me some comments regarding improvements, that would be greatly appreciated!

My list of parts is as follows:

MOBO: ASUS H110M-A/M.2 LGA 1151 Micro-ATX Motherboard

CPU: Intel i5 6400

Graphics card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950 OC 2GB Video Card

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4

Power Supply: Fractal Design Integra M 80+ Bronze 550W Modular Power Supply

Storage: WD WD10EZEX 1TB Blue 3.5” 7200RPM SATA3 Hard Drive

Case: Deepcool Tesseract SW Mid Tower Case - Charcoal

Also, is it necessary to purchase extra case fans considering that the case already comes with two: (one rear, one front).

Thanks,

himynameistree

$600 could be a fair bit of money (USD) to not much (AUD) so currency would be nice lol

That said, try getting a single 8gb stick of ram so that in the future you can add another to get 16gb in duel channel.

Extra case fans are a luxury, the main components are more important with this low a budget

CPU: Intel i9 9900K Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z390-F RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX @ 3000MHz CL15 GPU: Gigabyte 1080Ti Windforce w/ AIO Liquid cooler Case: Fractal Design Define S Storage: 500GB Samsung 970 Evo NVME, 1TB OCZ Trion 150, 1TB SanDisk Ultra II, 2TB Samsung 860 QVO PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 Gold 850W Display: 1440p 144Hz Acer XG270HU CPU Cooling: Noctua NH-D15 Keyboard: Logitech G Pro TKL Mouse: Logitech G403 Wireless Sound: Fiio E10k + Sennheiser HD6xx + Logitech Desktop Tower Speakers OS: Windows 10 Home

It's a decent build. As usual, I'd consider an RX 460 if you want it, as it does have an edge on some Vulkan and DX12 games like Doom. If you don't mind spending a little more, get an RX 470. Some games do benefit from having 4+ GB of VRAM, even at 1080p.

And no, there is no need to buy case fans. Two is enough to keep most builds from getting too warm. However, some people may buy aftermarket case fans for aesthetics, noise, manipulating air pressure, or getting a bit more cooling. This can be a little pricey, though, and isn't really worth it if it means you could have gotten a better CPU, GPU, or SSD.

so most of us here are Aussies thats good :) anyway i'd wait for the 1050 and if you can afford the extra $30-35 get the 6500 instead as it will perform a lot better than the 6400 to come out and if you want parts i'd go to either Umart, Msy, or PCcasegear. they are the cheapest you're gonna find in aus unless you shop on newegg, even then new egg will cost a few $ less after shipping

Don't buy a GTX950. Just don't. For a similar price you can get an RX470, just a few dollars more will get you an RX480, and with another small bump you'll get GTX1060... Even RX470 should easily destroy GTX950.

which specific type of rx 470 would u recommend?

to be honest I'd pay the extra 100 AUD for the RX 470 it has great performance and has 4 GB Vram which is becoming the new standard, if you cheap out now you will have to upgrade again a lot sooner.
