Hi forum. Out of these 4 which SSD would be best bang for buck and which is best performance and would it be worth spending the extra money ? They obviously have read/write specs but I don't know too much about controllers within the drives etc so any help/education is greatly appreciated.

The drives are :

- Samsung 850 evo

- Samsung 750 evo

- Crucial mx300

- Crucial mx200

Drive I'll be purchasing will be 500gb.

Thanks

750. It performs very good for it's price: slightly worse then the 850 in certain tests and sometimes better, but in most normal use scenario's the difference is not noticable between the 2.

The mx200 is a 525 GB and has the lowest price per GB followed by the 750. But it performs not as good. So easy choice for me: 750 it is.

Would you be able to give reasoning as to why please?  Trying to educate myself here too thanks!

Why I chose the 850 EVO:

-Good reliability / Lowest RMA rates (on par with Intel) - as seen in the hardware.fr periodical overview

-Good endurance ratings, comes with a 5 year warranty

-Excells in the 'stuff that matters'; 4k random read with low queue depth / IOPS

As others have said, the differences between SSDs are marginal. But these things do ever so slightly set it apart from some of the competitors.

But to be fair, pretty much all the options mentioned would be good ones and it's unlikely you'll notice much of a difference.
