1151 Motherboard with Remote Management & m.2 | For Home Server

Inrix

I'm having a bit of trouble finding a motherboard with remote management functionality like Intel's AMT... Any suggestions? Its for a server that will be running 24/7 at home and needs to support pcie 4x m.2 and the ability to remotely hard restart and edit the bios. Like Linus did in a video (Sorry cannot find it).

Oh and I should also mention that I'm in NZ so the motherboard would need to be available here: http://pricespy.co.nz/:)

EDIT:  I'm planning on putting a 6700k in the server over a xeon as its going to be doing some unique workloads. So the board will probably need to be z170 chipset for overclocking.

have you looked at SuperMicro's offerings? https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Core/

Sorry, should have mentioned it in the post... Does the chipset their 1151 boards use support overclocking? I'm planning on putting a 6700k in the server over a xeon as its going to be doing some unique workloads.

Heavy single threaded stuff mainly, which is why I'm going with the 6700k, otherwise I would be all over a xeon.

the trouble with those SM OC capable boards is the LACK of directly stated IPMI, which honestly is more server grade stuff. You SHOULD* be able to buy a SM IPMI add-on board, or MAYBE you can reassign the second Intel 1000BaseT port for IPMI duty, but i honestly don't know that at all.

Since it's a server and you want stability and low-af temps over sheer clock speed, maybe go for a regular 6700? Otherwise, @knightslugger recommended some good Z170 boards

Yea, am just looking over @knightslugger post now :) And I wont be running the cpu overclocked 24/7, I plan to have it running stock normally and when I start doing some specific intensive stuff turn on the OC till its done.

Intel's AMT is part of vPRO

problem OP has:

  1. K series CPUs are not vPRO capable
  2. you need a B or Q series chipset mobo; or C236
  3. B, C236 and Q aren't OC capable
