Booting to USB on ASUS P6T to install Linux on freshly formatted HD

Do I need to update the BIO's, I know I got an older BIOS.

All I got for options on F8 at boot is Ethernet, CD or HD.

But when I go into BIOS via del key, it has in there "Removable" for boot sequence.
