Hi people,

I am considering changing stock oem intake fans on the front of my 300r but because the front of the chassis has bit of unfortunate design with a lot of obstruction for the air flow I am not sure what type of fan would be better for this application either a static pressure fans such as sp120/air penetrators or fans more focused on shifting big amount of air such as af 120/140?

Attached a picture of the front for reference, thanks guys.

I would get something with in the middle performance(decent cfm & decent sp)  like phanteks fans or be quiet silent wings 2.

Well I have a buddy with the same case but the front intake won't get alot of benefit from airflow since the hdd cages are blocking flow. I'd go for some Gentle Typhoons, AP123, Corsair AF series, or some BitFenix Spectres. Any other suggestions presented might be better.

I would avoid anything with low static pressure, so avoid 140mm fans. Corsair SP120mm have the highest static pressure i have tested, but not great air channeling, which would benefit you in this case. So, i would go air penetrators(121), noctua nf f12, or if you want a very quiet solution but lower cfm, the bitfenix spectre pro. All three channel air well.

Not sure that you are going to achieve much better airflow then whats already there. (stock fans)

The only reason I would suggest changing them, would be LED Fans for aesthetics.

Noctuas and the like for this application, seems to be a bit much?  $

I would get some static pressure optimized fans since there is a filter in front of the fan. I use Cougar Turbine 120mm for my intakes and they have no problems in moving air through the filter.
