Low FPS and Low GPU Usage

While playing FSX, I have the FPS set to unlimited, and get about 50 FPS on average. But when I check my usage, the GPU is only at 50%, CPU at 30%, and ram at 14%. Why am I not using more of my PC's power?

 

Setup:

i7 6700k at 4.8GHz

32 GB of RAM 

GALAX GTX 980 Ti HOF

Do you have the latest drivers for your GPU?

Use the Task Manager and look at individual CPU core usage. The game might not have been coded to use every available CPU core.

 

I had a similar thing with Heroes of the Storm, where my CPU usage was only about 16-20% and my GPU usage was around 20% (I have a GTX 1070). Turns out, that game only uses one core, and my low FPS was a result of my one CPU core not being enough to sustain the game.

 

Since I've overclocked, I've gotten much better FPS. I understand that you have a 6700K, which realistically shouldn't have a problem with any modern game, but I'm just throwing this out there.

yeah flight sim is LEGENDARY for being absolutely terribly coded. thats the best you're gunna get bro.
