Help with a split-personality build

Hi all,

This isn't my first rodeo building my own PC, I've done it a couple times before, but this is definitely a time when I think that I could use some advice. Currently, I'm studying engineering and we need SolidWorks as well as AutoCAD. My current laptop (A Lenovo Y700) is OK at running SolidWorks but, it has issues with crashing due the 960M that it's equipped with. So I'm looking at building a new ATX size PC, with enough power to run SolidWorks and be able to play DOOM.  My preferred budget would be about $1000 USD, but I can go up to $1300 but it would be much more difficult to swing that price. I'm more partial to an Intel/Nvidia set up, but I could be convinced to get a Radeon card but I'm firm with the Intel aspect.

I came up with a build on PCParts Picker but, I figured you fine people would know a bit more balanced build.

I definitely agree with @wrathoftheturkey

get at a solid air cooler, single rad AIO are not good deals.

Also, get a significantly better psu, something tier 1 or tier 2 (maybe 3 if you really can't afford something better) from this list

Also, don't get the founders edition gpus, they aren't great deals.

Try to to fit an ssd in if possible.

I'd go with an air cooler over that AIO, and that PSU's not the best out there

Thanks for the tip, a friend recommended the AIO but I found the Cooler Mastery Hyper 212 for less and it seems to have better reviews. I actually already did have an SSD in there already, an ADATA Premier 120 GB drive. I also picked the EVGA SC line instead of the Founder's Edition, also for less.

Oh yeah, if you're rendering stuff (I know AutoCAD at least holds to this rule) and not gaming at 1440p or anything like that, you might want to drop down to a 1060 and get a 6700k, since CPU performance is more important for that stuff.

I mentioned AutoCAD, but it actually looks like SW is going to be much more prevalent since I have a job in the Machine Shop here and I need SW more. Maybe I can find a cheap Quadro or Firepro card for sale around here.
