Hello!

I'm from the UK, My old laptop (might have) died, meaning I will be in the lookout for a new one

budget: ~£800 (might be able to do +£200, if it will be worth it)

purpose: University stuff + gaming

games:

currently I'm into overwatch. But I will want to play some more demanding games, and I would like it to last a while.

Features:

250GB SSD + HDD

some issues that I am thinking about:

1) I'm at uni, so a desktop is (currently) out of the question

2) I am thinking of building a PC later on, so the laptop may not neet to last that long (?)

3) my old laptop had an i7 (2670QM) and a 555m. bad, but it could run overwatch (720p low)

4) 950m vs 960m vs 970m: I know a 950 will be enough for overwatch now, but will it allow me to game (even at low) in a few years time? (my current laptop bearly managed that)

5) i5 vs i7. A few laptops I looked at have i5 and i7 variants (6300HQ, 6700HQ, both quad cores). how much of an effect would this have on each GPU? http://laptopmedia.com/highlights/intel-core-i5-6300hq-vs-intel-core-i7-6700hq-which-is-better-for-gaming-and-is-it-worth-the-extra-bucks-for-the-i7/ (this talks about the 960m, but what about the 970m? are there laptops with an i5 and a 970?)

just look at the hp omen and configure it to your needs. If you use chrome a lot i recommend at least 12 gigs of ram

can't find configurator for UK though.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a 256GB SSD.

thanks for the info though, didn't really consider HP yet!
