GSync doesnt work

Hey guys,

I have 2 monitors to my PC. My main one, the Acer XB280HK 4K Gsync and I recently added my 32" 1080P Samsung smart TV to it so that I can monitor my temps and stuff while gaming. I noticed that my GPU usage was always at 100% in games where it was usually at 80-90% usage because GSync was limiting it to 60hz. So I started up fraps and noticed that I was getting 100 FPS in Project Cars, while I was supposed to get only 60 because of GSync. I do notice some tearing from time to time when running it at 100 FPS and I want to do something to get GSync to work again so that I no longer get tearing. Yes, it is turned on in the CP. Could it be because I added the secondary TV to it? Any fixes? Thanks.

G-Sync only works when the frame rate is below your monitor's refresh rate. Once you hit the frame rate, it turns off, and either the GPU will go beyond the refresh rate(if it can), or V-Sync will take over and limit the GPU to 60FPS. If you want to use V-Sync when G-Sync isn't used anymore, you need to navigate to Manage 3D Settings in NVIDIA Control Panel, and scroll down to the bottom. Once you do that, you should see an option for V-Sync. Select the drop-down menu and click on V-Sync. Apply the settings.

That's a subjective answer. You can have usage anywhere between 0% and 100%.

Well I thought it also limits the framerate to 60. It was that way since I got the monitor back in March  but since I installed the latest driver it is allowed to go over 60.

The job of G-Sync is to keep the monitor and GPU in sync when the GPU dips below the refresh rate. What I believe has happened is the settings for V-Sync changed. Check the NVIDIA Control Panel to verify your settings are correct. G-Sync could also be disabled depending on how you updated the driver(for example doing a clean installation will wipe your settings).

I did the express installation. Didn't do a clean install since I bought the card

Re-verify the settings to be sure things are set up correctly.

U need vsync on too 

nvdia changed the driver so if ur pushing more fps than ur monitor it will go past and disable vsync which is advantages for fps shooters because the engine runs more smoothly at higher fps 

ie csgo 

but for racing games and rpgs and basically anything none shooter u want vsync on too with gsync
