So How this build? Note: I'm still deciding on whether or not I should get this pre-built or do it myself. I am saving around $200 USD by doing it myself as compared to a pre-built. Once you get all the parts, how difficult is it? Is it like a puzzle and if the part doesn't fit it won't work? I'm assuming Linus has building guides? Things I'm wondering: how well will this run The Witcher 1-3 and or Battlefield 1? Do I have all the correct parts for a wired Internet connection? I use a Wi-FI connection for all my devices what makes a wired better vs WI-Fi? i'm wondering if this is too much-that I don't need all this stuff and I'm wondering if any of it is overkill. I'm also concerned about longevity. If I can get 5+ years out of this without upgrading then it'll be worth it to me as opposed to staying on the PS4. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/tMKphq

Yes Linis has building guides

I would spend less on a cpu and get a 1060 3gb. 6700 is overkill. i5 6500 is fine. Wired are more stable.

Get a better PSU, EVGA G2 or Corsair RMx will do better

If you do not want 1060 then get an aftermarket one, that gpu is reference and will be loud af

Mushkin is not a popular brand for SSD. Crucial, Kingston or best is Samsung EVO

Why not spend some more for full size ATX board?

Do you need sound card? Are you producing music professionally?

As long as all of your parts are compatible (Like the right socket on your motherboard for your cpu) its like putting Ikea furniture together, really confusing the first time but really simple once you get the hang of it.

As someone who bought his first gaming pc from a store, and has since built 2, I say build it all the way. Its nerve racking and you'll curse yourself as you think your going to break the mobo pressing down on ram as hard as you need to, but in the end its so much better. Not only is it cheaper, but it feels so good to know you did everything yourself.

CPU: I5 4590 Motherboard: ASROCK H97 Pro4 Ram: XPG 16gb v2.0 4x4 kit  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 PSU: EVGA 550w Supernova G2 Storage: 128 gb Sandisk SSD + 525gb Mx300 SSD Cooling: Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP Case: Zalman T2 Sound: Logitech Z506 5.1 Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma Keyboard: DBPower LED

Uh, no I assumed a sound card was for well general sound: gaming, entertainment, streaming services etc.. I just want to be able to PC game. Without having to worry if the PC will handle it down the road.

Here, I think this would be a better use of your money, gets rid of a lot of the stuff you didnt need from your last build.

Motherboards have sound chips built in, I have a 5.1 system (note you need one that has native 5.1 support for that) coming from mine and it is just fine. Also they have ethernet ports built in, so don't worry about that. Don't get Macafee if you are going to pay for a antivirus ask around the forums for the best one.
