Hey guys. Right now...I am using an OCZ Vector 256gb in my system. I also have Windows 8 and just bought a 500gb Seagate backup+ drive. This drive has a SATA dock, so I can actually use it as a main drive PROVIDED I can somehow get Windows AND all my files on it...What's the best imaging solution? I was looking into True Image 2013 that came with my Vector but I heard terrible reviews saying that the restore and backup functions are half-baked and have many bugs. Please help, I have lots of sensitive data on my drive

PS. I don't want to use Windows 8 file history because I don't think you can boot off of it

Why do you want to move your Windows install to the slower HDD? Personally I'd only use imaging software from SSD -> SSD or HDD -> HDD cos Windows does things differently depending on what type of drive you install on. Maybe some imaging software recognizes this and does something about it, but I've never looked into it.

Oh...I'm doing this in case my main drive (Hint: lots of sensitive data) goes down...which case I can comfortable sip my coffee while I plugin Seagate drive into SATA and temporarily get things done while a new drive ships back to me

Give Macrium Reflect a try. I have been an acronis guy for about 10 years but last couple versions are not nearly as dependable as the older versions.

I switched to Macrium Reflect (Free Version) a while back and quite like it.
