Your motherboard has two USB 3.0 headers, either will work.

To remove the cable just pull on it. Don't pull the cable itself, but the header bit.

It may be hard, but it will come. It doesn't have a clip on it.

 

Also, you have two as one will be controlled by Intel and the other will be a third party chip which is normally slower than the other.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Both are 3.0 which you can tell by the shape. 2.0 are the smaller headers next to the one at the bottom.

It will say it in the manual.
Manufactures always change between them which one will be which.
It's not like sata ports where the first ones (normally grey) will be Intel and the black will be Marvell.

It's not a race to the bottom.
