What is the best low-profile air cooler? Max 45 mm in height!

What the title asks. I thought intel stock cooler would be low enough, but no.... And it must not be taller than 45 mm (making it 50 mm with mobo included) and max 90 mm in diameter, but if you can there might be room for a 120 mm too, so any cooler between 90 - 120 mm can be suggested. But I am primarely interesten in 90 mm ones.

The best cooler would be an Evercool HPL-815. Can anyone confirm this? I have never heard of either Evercool, or this review website. Legit results?

The Rosewill RCX-775-LP might be an option. Evercool stuff tends to break or die early in my experience.

Custom build. That's all I am going to say for now. If I ever finish the project, I will be sure to post it here on LTT, but right now, it is in such an early planning-stage that I am just scouting for components to give a rough idea of what is available so I can make measurements from there.

 

Now I realized that all mobo-manufacturers tend to vary their socket-placement quite a lot, so the Noctua NH-L9i might be the best option after all, ending up with a 4.1 mm total height. The planned CPU will be 35 - 45 W anyway, so that should be easy for the noctua, even with a low-noise adapter.
