GTA V memory error

Trying the light version of the GTAV redux mod, game starting loading story mode then bam memory error, googled it and a ton of other people with mods have the same problem, must be something to do with mods or something, I figured 8GB would be enough... anybody know a fix?

Overall memory only peaked at 48% on task manager so not a memory problem yet a memory error... wot m8

I ran into the same issue with redux, using 16gb of ram though.  I increased my pagefile size and it seemed to help but I ignorantly installed rockstar's new patch and it killed it all.  Personally, I went back to vanilla and the only thing I really miss is the explosions

Found a solution. :

 

Download this file: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gameconfig-for-patch-1-0-757-2-update-at-each-r-update

 

Navigate to the location specified the INSTALLATION file (navitgate in openiv) and replace the gameconfig.xml in that location
