Hello all :) I've got a bit of an issue going on with my laptop and I need your advice on how to go about fixing this.

So a majority of the time I have my laptop without an ethernet cable plugged in at all, in my room and that's fine but the thing is, like just now about 5-6 minutes ago I was on Euro Truck Simulator 2 (MULTIPLAYER) and my internet will say that it (The Internet from my router etc) is connected and everything works fine but when I check my internet connection on Google Chrome by going to any website like say LTT-Forums and other sites like YouTube, it for some starts a DNS Probe or something like that and it won't load despite the fact it says I'm fully connected.

What's going on here? It's only on this laptop, not on my other devices that causes this issue. To fix this issue, I always have to restart the laptop in order to have it working again, can get very annoying.

Any simple fixes/solutions ..? o.O

Thanks

I had a similar issue that was caused by a few issues. A big cause usually involves the device receiving a weak signal. You could also try reinstalling your wireless drivers.

So basically I would need to have a ethernet cable plugged in a majority of the time unless I do what I normally do which is to restart the laptop?

Hmmm ok cool, thanks :) Appreciate the help!

I'm not sure the exact cause because I never figured it out completely but here is what I did in my case. I tried reinstalling the drivers. My router was broadcasting the N and AC bands under the same SSID which would cause my connection to switch between them. I would get DNS issues more frequently when it was connected to the N band. I cleared the firmware of my router and set it back up. Actually the only time I would get DNS issues was when someone else was streaming video such as Netflix.

Thankfully I don't stream anything like Netflix currently although You did just remind me of something...... lol. Gotta find something/somewhere to rewatch any TV-Series whenever. Thank you for reminding me xD

And as for the Internet issues..... I guess I'll just consider a ethernet cable for more data per min/sec/hour or whatever. These DNS Probes don't actually happen on the laptop a lot of the time though but yeah I'll try that I suppose.

Also, can players with high Ping/ms in a multiplayer game cause connection loss/interruption(s) of any kind ..? I have no idea about Networking but I remember that were a few players here and there with 100-150+~ High Ping/ms when playing ETS-2 just now.

On your end? No unless you are running the server on that laptop.

Oh heck no, I'm not hosting the server thankfully lol. It's a public unofficial server made by some guys and it's in the Alpha Stage. Runs very stable but other players are the ones with not that high but still considerably high(er) Ping/ms, not me.
