how do i update my bios?

my pc has an issue of not going to sleep on lid closing. i looked it up and other people have the same problem. they fixed it by updating their bios. does anyone know how i would do that? my pc is an asus ux31la-us51t if it helps.

Is no one trying to help you out?

 

Go to the manufacturer's website.

Download the latest BIOS.

Put it on the root directory of a flash drive as per the instructions.

Go to your BIOS.

Save any overclocking you have in a separate profile and then set to default.

After that, start the flashing process.

Most notebooks BIOSes when downloaded should come in an .exe file. Just run the .exe file when you're ready after saving all your work, it should start the BIOS update process.
