Need Help Finding a Server or NAS

Hi LTT Forums,

I have very little knowledge of NAS and Servers in general so I need your help. So, I work for a small business that takes care of accounting and taxes. My boss wants me to find something that allows multiple people to work on the software we use. For example, I want to download the tax software onto the server or NAS and be able to work straight on it. Preferably, I hope that it allows multiple computers to access the software at the same time. I'd like for it be compact and it doesn't need that much storage; 4TB is enough for us. Also preferably, I would like for it not to be a tower as I want something similar to WD My Cloud EX4100.

So you want a file server?

You mention running software on it. Do you mean storing the files for the program on the server, or storing data files created and opened by the software?

Storing software on the server would be slower than just installing on the PC.
