Overheating Problem with Asus GL502

Hi,

I have recently bought the Asus GL502, the GTX 970m, i7 6700HQ model. I have had a rather good experience with it until now : in-game temperatures are going really -really high. I have a dektop pc reasonably powerful (GTX 970), so I kind of know how things work : so when I see that GPU and CPU are respectively reaching temps as high as 85°-90°C and 95°C while playing games like GTA5 or DOOM, it really worries me... Not only I imagine the consequences to be really bad for the components, and thermal throttling is surely eating some fps away, which is less dramatic but nonetheless problematic.

So here are my questions :

-Are those temps normal for a laptop (I highly doubt it, but one never knows....) ?

-Why those temps, and how to fix this problem (if it is related to thermal paste or something similar, I am comfortable with going inside my pc) ?

Thanks for any answer !

Thats pretty normal for a gaming laptop. you can try to get one of those laptop docks with a fan build in or something

you could try replacing the thermal paste inside the laptop if you really want to optimize it.

I think I'll try some new thermal paste... But really, even for a laptop, cpu and gpu temps sometimes jumping to 100°C and 92°C that seems so... high !

okay 90+ is def too hot
consider lowering in-game settings
and setting a FPS limit of 60

My old laptop was having similar issues, so I bought something like This.  I wasn't comfortable enough back then to tear apart my laptop and re-apply thermal paste or anything like that, but I did give the fans a good cleaning as well.

That's way too high. Repaste it with Gelid GC or IC Diamond. Or complain to get a RMA, cause repasting fucks your warranty.
