Hey!

So I think I have a problem with my CPU (the i5-4670k), it's says in the bios that the default clock is at 3.4ghz, but I didn't OC'd it and still, when looking on CPU-Z, it's clocked at 3.8ghz on idle, wth ?

The temps are ok, but when I first got it, when on idle, the CPU was clocked at 0.8ghz and then 3.4ghz when playing a game, and now it's all the time at 3.8ghz, even though I didn't touch anything in the bios.

Should I send it back ?

HLEP ?

Thanks in advance guys!

Yeah but all the time ? Thought that maybe it was CPU-Z that added a 3 in front of the .8ghz, so IDK..

Turbo boost. Higher clock, same voltage.

Oh, well, ok I guess.

It's not such a huge problem as long as the temps are ok I guess.

I find cpu-z to be a bit stupid. It always shows me the max clock speed instead of the clock speed that it's actually running at.

Use RealTemp to see what your clock speed really is.
