Hey guys I'm looking to get a new mother board. Now I'm not looking to get 100FP on every single game. I don't see any difference past 60 and even then I play just fine on 30fps Infact I'm pretty much broke and probably won't play even a 10th of the games coming out nowadays. But I'm a big MMORPG player, and there are a few games coming out that my hand-me-down setup is slugging pretty hard on. I kind of shopped around and found this motherboard. http://pcpartpicker.com/product/m2qdnQ/msi-motherboard-970gaming

It's under a 100$ and has DDR3 and 3.0 usb support. Am wanting to stick with AMD as well. But I am not sure what processors will work with this board or what. This is my first time actually shopping for new parts. I've only merely seen a few linustechtips videos here and there.

EDIT-- My bottle neck is my mobo and processor. I took it out of an older dell pc. I have a Radeon HD 6950 GPU and a 115-230V Power supply.

You probably don't see anything past 60fps since your monitor is likely capped at 60hz.

You know a motherboard has nothing to do with gaming performance, right?

You'll probably want a new GPU or CPU, and get a compatible motherboard accordingly

What are you using now? I would suggest a budget Skylake board with an i3-6100 or i5-6500 CPU and RX 470 GPU for MMORPG light gaming.

I think you're shopping in the wrong order.... First decide upon what CPU you want to use, then decide upon what motherboard you want to use for that CPU. Motherboards don't typically affect performance in any meaningful way (as far as raw fps is concerned) so you can often just buy whatever is cheapest for that CPU.

You need to list your budget and the parts you don't plan on changing. Intel is far superior to AMD and you should really look at getting a Pentium G4400 or i3-6100. MOBO doesn't affect performance, just make sure it is from a reliable manufacturer.
