So i have an asus Maximus viii hero motherboard with an intel i7-6700k running at 4.8ghz in my rig, i want to upgrade my ram to hopefully help render some videos, maybe add a few fps in games on ultra high settings and so on

however i have been browsing and have noticed that the board is dual channel, does this mean i can not buy a quad channel kit? will it cause me and problems?

i really am looking to overkill RAM, not going to lie, i've been looking at getting a quad channel 64gb kit but am concerned that it won't work or work as well as some other set up that i could possibly have instead..

any advice would be great, if there's recommended configurations for the board that i am unaware of then please go ahead and lay it on me :)
