Alright, I don't know TO much but streaming so a lot of this is speculation but I think I am in the right here. My friend has been trying to stream Rocket League, he is up to like 200 followers though he has a small problem with FPS loss, he knows his internet is a slight issue though that wouldn't cause FPS loss within a game. His main specs are

  • i7-920
  • 6GBs of RAM
  • GTX 560Ti

So, I don't think his CPU would be a problem and if it is I think he can overclock it on his motherboard ( don't know for sure, it is some Asus mobo, I can get exact model soon ), And I also don't think RAM is a big issue, yeah 6 isn't enough, even at 720p it happens. So my first concern was the GPU and I think I am right to assume this since 1GB simply isn't enough since I believe OBS even when not encoding with hardware uses an extra 200-250MB of VRAM + Rocket League which even if not the most demanding game, I still don't think 1GB is optimal. Along with his monitor is 1600x900 though he plays 1280x720. I am right in assuming an upgrade even to something for say a HD 7870 GHz Edition would be a viable upgrade over say upgrading to all new CPU, RAM and mobo ( he is a uni student so not much money to spare ), or any other GPU even like a RX 460 or a GTX 950 on sale.

This is purely speculation, but my guess is that the frame loss is caused from the lag involved with page file. 6GB really isn't that much RAM, so between the OS(itself), the game, and any other programs(like OBS and possible a web browser), the RAM is probably being mostly utilized as it is, but since the GPU is only 1GB the game might be requesting too much VRAM, so the GPU might also be caching to the system RAM adding to that problem. I wouldnt worry about the CPU, but I would add more RAM at least(maybe bump it up to 12GB, or 18GB since 4GB sticks are cheap), and a more modern GPU wouldnt hurt(especially since modern ones have built in video encoders, it would take the load off the CPU).

Alright so for the most part I am not wrong, though actually I do know that video encoding requires a higher bitrate than what Twitch's max supported is ( found that out recently ). So I think he has 1x4GB and 1x2GB, Assuming another 4GB stick wouldn't hurt along as he gets a kit with similar specs. + the GPU ( again uni student ) something like a 950 or RX 460.
