Is it worth getting a capture card? Will it reduce the load on my cpu and gpu at all?

Oh I was thinking of using a PCI-E capture card. I have an Elgato Game Capture HD. Could I use something like that? I originally bought it for my PS3 but I was wondering if it would reduce any load off my CPU so I can get better performance out of the game.

Not if you use something like an Elgato. Which is basically a pass-through Hdmi.
