DS4 Adapter Issues

I just bought a DS4 adapter form sony and can not get my ds4 to sync to it. I bought the ds4 from walmart and it has never been synced to a ps4, its only ever been used through micro usb. When i press home button the back flashes something between white and turquoise, not sure what color its putting out. I also found out how to put the dongle into sync mode but if i hold the home button and share button for three seconds nothing happens, i have also tried resetting it with a paper clip and that hanst helped either.

 

Im using windows 10 with 16 gb ram, and the dongle is in a usb 3.0 slot.

 

Any help is appreciated.
