Im looking at the Lenovo Yoga laptops as i would like a keyboard to my pad essentially..  Im going to use it mostly for just Hearthstone, movie viewing,  browsing and watching linustechtips videos ;)

They all meet the criteria otherwise. enough battery and storage.

So how will i notice the difference on the different CPUs? and how about the Integrated grafics?

Will the cheapest lag on HD movies etc?

The cheapest Yogas has:

Intel Pentium 4405U

Intel HD Graphics 510
4 GB

Next step up is:

Intel Core i3 6100U

Intel HD Graphics 520
4 GB

then:
Intel Core i5 6200U

Intel HD Graphics 520
4 GB

then:

Intel Core i5 7200U

Intel HD Graphics 620
4 GB

I mean the i5 7200U will preform better then the other three as well the integrated graphics.

If you're not doing any hardcore gaming or crazy multi-threaded operations, I don't think you'd really notice much.

I'd personally go for the i3 model though if you can afford it. In general daily usage, I think you'd notice it the most from the Pentium to i3. But if you can get either i5 model, than I'd go for it [: But considering what you're using it for, the i3 will be fine.

And I doubt it'll lag on HD videos. I was using my Intel Quad q6700 up until last month. And that had no problem playing anything 1080p. And that CPU is from 2008 and is multiple steps lower then that i3 or even Pentium to be completely honest :P

Ryzen 7 2700x, MSI Gaming X RX 480 8gb, Asus ROG X470 Gaming, 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000, 120gb Kingston SSD (Boot) + 1TB Seagate Barracuda.

Normally going from Pentium to Core i3 would be a very nice bump, as Pentiums used to be dual cores without hyperthreading. But that particular Pentium does actually have hyperthreading, so the CPU performance is almost the same as the Core i3.

But hey, on the other hand the upgrade from HD Graphics 510 to 520 is very big - the 520 has twice as many EUs and runs slightly higher clocks. Might help if you do end up running a game or two beyond Hearthstone (or if Hearthstone ends up getting a graphics update or something).

  • 2 months later...

I bought a Yoga510 i3-6100U/4GB/128GB/ and it had a fan rubbing straight out of the box.. i returned and tried to raise the deal..(unsure about the correct word)   thinking this can not be a quality product.. But since the first guy trew my packaging i could not do it supposedly.. And the first guy probably missunderstood as i paid early and waited for a long time. The clock starts to tick at delivery.. anyway.. still waiting.. been weeks now.. sent a e-mail today.. explaining the situation..
