Reviving old laptop

I got the laptop from my uncle as one with burned mobo - i have only the mb and plastic case with some wires for monitor camera mice and so on .

Dont have ram hdd lcd dvd and the keyboard + alot of other stuff i dont know its supposed to have.

I pulled one one ram stick from my aspire 5750 and the old battery i had and plugged the charger from the other one - lol and behold it started chargng and eventually detected that the baterry is full - connected the power button and after pressing it the the activity light or whatever it is (first from left to right on acer laptops) lighterd up as well as the power buttom - nothing else - the fan didnt spin up aswell no sound from the old hdd i putted into it.

Im sure i connected all the wires there are even tho most are for speakers and so on so my question is can it do all the things i wrote so far and the mb be bad?
