RX 460 Issue

FMLGamer

I bought a sapphire rx 460 and then found out that i had a monitor which only supports vga.

So i bought an adapter that converts dp to vga.

It works fine but wen i start my pc up it doesnt show the motherbord screen and the windows booting.

It starts to work wen i have to login in wndows 10.

Is the converter the monitor or the gpu the issue?

It's most likely the converter.

And please.. Get a new monitor.

I'm guessing you're gaming at 1080p.. Do you want help looking for monitors? :)

sure, a monitor with hdmi 1080p would be nice.

It has to be between 20-24 inch otherwise it wont fit in my setup

Cool! It features HDMI and IPS. It's a really good monitor for its price and, in my eyes, looks amazing.

Be happy the coverter works at all, you're going from a digital to analog video signal

and for the future Plugable makes USB to video outputs, not sure on it's latency though

Does your card not have DVI-i or whatever, it's the one with 4 extra pins

Also best in class monitor is probably this one at $120, 1080p 75hz free-sync, only downside is TN, but modern TN is actually pretty alright, not worth it at it's normal price of $150 though

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
