Upgrade Help

I am planning to upgrade the GPU/Monitor for my current setup:

Processor: i7 3770k, RAM: 16 GB, GPU: GTX 660ti PSU: 750W Monitor: 23" 60Hz Samsung TV (T23B350EW)

I have a maximum £1,000 (UK), and I was considering purchasing a gtx 1070 and better 1080p non-gsync monitor. I don't particularly want to upgrade to 1440p setup due to scaling issues with watching movies and TV shows which I do quite a lot of. I want the gpu to be able to achieve 60 fps on max settings on games like GTA V and the new BF1 game. Is the gtx 1070 the right gpu for achieving this or is it overkill for 1080p?

for 1080p gtx 1070 is an overkill....go for gtx 1060 if you want to save some money.
