Need serious help! So confused.

Right where to start.

 

Currently my ISP is VirginMedia (Fastest UK Provider) Using there router they supplied as my main router (For now will become just a modem when i finally buy some kit and build a pfsense router which will make all this shit redundant and then i will turn the spare netgear router in to a independent firewall but that's for another day)

 

that runs to a switch (which isn't fully configured yet but that for another day again)

 

I got a old netgear DG834G for free this is also plugged in to my switch and has a static IP assigned so i can configure it whilst still connected to the ISP router for internet access and plan is to yous that as a VPN so i can access all my connected devices from my work.

 

by default it supports VPN but i dont have a clue how to configure it so i can use it as a vpn point to access all the stuff plugged in to my switch? is this possible?

 

the netgear apparently cans support install of OpenWRT can you set it up using that if not the default system?

 

maybe this image(yes it paint i wasn't gonna do a Photoshop masterpiece for this xD) will help you understand better as i know i got lost just typing this ha.

so ye which way do i have to set it up to stand a chance of having this work? im guess the second way? and still how do i configure this in the settings??
