So this is my second laptop within 6 months first one wouldn't even power on...  Now this happens made sure my ssd was secure unplugged and plugged back in... In diagnostics it won't even recognize there's an ssd attached....  Like I think im about to give up on laptops granted it was cheap ~300 bucks still money down the drain though any help would be much appreciated although idk how much else I can do

If you just bought it, is it still under warranty through HP?

If the device is set as UEFI or Legacy boot and the BIOS forgets which its supposed to be that can happen. I've had it happen after BSODs before on desktops. Boot order or legacy/UEFI settings get buggered. Hard reset may have shaped it back up, but you may wanna double check what the drive actually is, boot wise, and make sure the BIOS is set as that only.
