I have a feeling that people don't even look at the pinned post, before making a thread...

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

It all depends on if your source is good enough or not. My PC has a RealTek ALC 892 chipset for the audio and the built in DAC sounds like crap so I picked up an ODAC and even on my HD518's I can tell it's a lot cleaner and the frequency response is a little smoother. Personally I don't think it makes that much of a difference if you aren't really into audio because you likely won't notice the difference unless you really look for it but for me I can tell the difference but all of my friends and family can't.

You connect your 518 directly to an ODAC?
