Page file issues?

I share a computer with a family member and somehow, they managed to get a 28/GB Page file(27.4Gb according to Taskman), So i brought it down to 8/GB's(which is reasonable for a 4gb ram LAPTOP.) But after a quick restart the page file still says its 28/GB's in taskmanager but it says 8/GB's in the system properties window, also yes im aware that it says 28000 Mb allocated, which makes no sense..

Try setting it to "No paging file", then bump it back up.

 

Just be sure your computer isn't going to load up a million programs on boot.

i dont think that would help, Im just trying to figure out why it still says it has a 28 gig Page file.(and why thats represented on my total harddisk space.)

Setting it to "no paging file" should wipe out the page file itself.

 

Well since the other solution I found requires restarting anyway: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314834 (this should work regardless that it says it's for XP)

Annd through some Mirical of the devil setting the computer to clear the page file on shutdown worked, i have reclaimed 20 gb's of my Precious HDD Space.
