The virus responsible for shingles and chickenpox(herpes zoster)  is not contagious unless there is active symptoms.  Most adults have the virus.  If he has an active case of shingles it is mildly contagious.

Additionally when activr shingles is only contagious if you havent had chicken pox only if tou have touched the blisters

 

Ive had shingles shit sucka still get weird tingling where i had the outbreak
