Ummm the correct answer is screws. If you don't want to screw into the wall build a free standing shelving unit.

 

Assuming you don't want to use screws because of putting holes in the wall just think about removing something glues to the wall.

It is a bit expensive but check the selection at the Container store. If you can afford it their fully modular and customizable Elfa line has a free standing option as well.

either freestanding or screws. I wouldn't trust any other option. If you use adhesive it WILL fall at some point.

Having had wood shelves fall on me in my sleep.... I would recommend not giving shelves a reason to fall lol.
