You will most likely be disappointed by the camera. Other than that I've only heard it's an amazing phone.

Who the hell buys a cellphone for how good the camera is?

Cameras are nice, but not essential. You want good pictures, get a real camera.

It's the convenience factor. I own a nice DSLR, but I have absolutely no plans to lug it around with me everywhere just in case there is something I want to take a picture of. Heck, I wouldn't even want to carry around a point and shoot. Believe it or not, for many the camera on a phone plays a big part in whether or not people will purchase a cellphone.

I'm a believer of buying a smartphone that happens to have a camera, not a camera that happens to have a smartphone attached.

While I get the convenience of having a camera on the phone, people need to understand that they will never get the quality of a professional camera, or even a consumer leveled 200 dollars Canon/Sony/Nikon/etc.

I know Nokia is trying to do just that, get a camera that takes amazing pictures, and that's really cool (except it runs Windows,) but the way I see it is the occasional picture I take or video I record usually is just fine with even a 5MP camera. If I am going to a family/celebratory/noteworthy event, I'm taking my camera.

In a world full of Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, the demand for better cameras on phones are high, but at this day and age where consumers barely understand what a megapixel is, and compulsively buy electronics they barely understand, it's unrealistic. It's an 8MP shooter on the back of the phone--more than good enough for me. If you want more, take a camera. If you truly (and I mean generalized, not you directly) want quality, then you'll have to sacrifice comfort and lug around a real camera.
