hey guys what would be the best motherboard to fit a gtx 970 and an i7 6670k processor (is unlocked or locked better?) a case to fit it in wouldnt be a problem as i was thinking of getting a new one. A have a cx 600 so preferably it could run on one of those but if an upgrade is needed ill look into it.

Thanks for all your help :D

You mean i7 6700K? There are i7 6700 and i7 6700K. The non-K CPU is alot harder to overclock and sometimes impossible. It's also clocked lower at 3.4GHz. On the other hand the K CPU can be overclocked and has higher clock at 4.0 GHz. As for motherboard if you are planning to overclock you need a motherboard with a chipset with Z in it's name (Z170). I would recommend Asus Z170-A/Z170 Pro Gaming if you want a very very good overclock. If you want the absolute maximum possible overclock (0.2GHz more at best) go for the Asus Maximus VIII Hero.

Yep, it's very simple and gives you more performance from what you bought for FREE. Well not actually for free because Z motherboards and K CPU's cost more, but it's worth it.
