Kali with a imac

Hello,

I've been having problems with making kali Linux live cd that will work on an iMac. The problem is when I go to boot from the live cd I hold alt at the little startup chime and the boot menu comes up I select enter on the "EFI boot" option AND... nothing my computer freezes up and I am forced to pull the power cable out in order for me to reboot the mac.

I created the live cd by doing the following:

1.opened terminal

2. (see terminal.jpg)

3. I opened etcher (https://www.etcher.io/)

4. (see etcher.jpg)

5. rebooted and booted into it

if there is anything wrong with the way I burned the live cd please tell me.

I am running:

OS X Yosemite

version 10.10.5(14F1024)

iMac (21.5-inch, mid-2011)

2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (x2 2GB)

 Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB

serial number:

C02GK8YUDHJF

I am also using an SATA to USB adapter if  that effects anything I don't know but I doubt it because it functions like a normal Hard drive with everything else I was using it for...

:)

yeah sure I don't know much of the mac softwares, but I l do know that Unetbootin is on mac. It is an easy graphical program to burn the file
