It is the first one I ever heard that has two HDMi ports but, do you know other cards with two HDMI ports?

Yeah the MSI Rx 480 and 470 have two.

Most of the newer GPUs of 2016 will only have either DisplayPort or HDMI.

I really don't see the reason for HDMI when there is DisplayPort. DisplayPort takes all the advantages of HDMI plus more.

  • Fully digital signal (like HDMI)
  • Carries audio signal (like HDMI)
  • Has a proper locking mechanism (not like HDMI)
  • Can support 4K and beyond resolutions, and high refresh rates
  • Part of the VESA standard
  • ThunderBolt takes advantage of DisplayPort technology

It was dumb when they rolled out HDMI to the masses when all the flat panel TV's first started having 1080P resolutions...

No it does not affect performance.

You only need a card with 2 HDMI ports if you want guaranteed compatibility with specific HDMI devices. Using DP to HDMI is normally not an issue, unless there is a bug, though those issues are rare and often quickly resolved.

Fair enough. Of course the much cheaper displays won't have them...they would probably even still have a VGA connection too.

But, here are a few for $150 or under (just for example purposes; not necessarily the most inexpensive ones available listed; not considering refurbished products):

  1. HP ProDisplay P222va 21.5" -- $111.99 USD
  2. Acer B226HQL 21.6" -- $129.99
  3. ASUS Commercial Series C422AQ 21.5" -- $146.99
  4. Samsung S24E370DL PLS 23.6" -- $149.99  **This one actual looks pretty slick**

No, DisplayPort to HDMI cables are the same as a native HDMI port.

I know, but I have a monitor and I plan on to get other one, but from the same series, so it is matching. And yes, there is only HDMIs.

You don't NEED to use a video card that has 2 HDMI.

Like may here have said to you, you can convert DisplayPort to HDMI (or DVI) very easily.

All of them are digital signals.
