Hi guys,

I only have 1-2 components of my build left in the mail and I'm looking for some clarification on building. Here's what I have so far:

  1. Install CPU into motherboard socket
  2. RAM into slots
  3. Mount motherboard to chassis
  4. Install storage systems
  5. Prepare and set up CPU cooler
  6. Screw in PSU and connect all relevant cables

Now I've heard people say power on the build and wait for something, then turn it off. What am I waiting for and when is it safe to turn off? Then do I install the graphics card and conduct a separate test? If so, for what?

I'm kinda nervous if it isn't obvious. :P

They connect and put everything together outside the case and boot it up to see if it posts, looking for defect hardware. You can skip that if you want to its up to you. Don't be nervous, its easy and their isnt much you can break!

I don't know what CPU you have, so you may or may not have onboard video. But anyway, I would wait for the GPU to arrive and put the computer together:

1. install CPU and cooler

2. install RAM

3. Install GPU

4. Hook everything up to the PSU

5. Hook up The front panel

6.  power it on and it if it will POST (Power on Self Test)

-You should see the BIOS or UEFI screen, press delete to get into the BIOS and confirm that the RAM is showing the proper frequency.
