Is my computer VR ready?

Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I'm thinking about getting the Vive VR headset to play simulation games such as iRacing. The steam VR compatibility checker advised that I upgrade my graphics card but due to short funds at the moment I'm not sure I can do that. Do you think my system would run the Vive VR headset well?

EDIT: I'M AN IDIOT AND DIDN'T UPDATE THE SPECS AS THIS WAS AN OLD LIST. I AM RUNNING AN NVIDIA GTX 780Ti graphics card

Looks like your CPU would do just fine, however you will certainly need a GPU upgrade in order to run VR.

If you're going to put the money into a HTC Vive, it shouldn't be a problem to save 25% more and get a 6gb GTX 1060

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Yeah that gpu is going to be a big issue.

I would get a new gpu first and then go VR.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Guys I'm an idiot, this was my old spec list and I didn't think to check as I thought it was my most up to date. I'm running a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780Ti graphics card not the one previously listed

I see. It's probably fine / playable. Don't expect max settings.

No problem! If you do get a HTC Vibe, a GTX 1060 will be enough of an upgrade to consider later on.

Will definitely keep that in mind, if I'm not happy with how it's running I'll save and upgrade!

Yea you can get a VR headset then :)
