RAM help!

My motherboard is a low budget one with only 2 slots for ddr3 ram up to 1600hz, So the qustion is should i buy 1x8 GB or 2x4 gb. Im limited in my money so i cant afford more. Is there difference between 2 ram sticks in both slots or 1 ram but more powerful in one slot. Single channel 8gb or dual channel 8gb (2x4).

Go with the single 8GB unless it's much more expensive.
