Does the Dark Rock 3 overshadow RAM and other components? I would be happy with the performance of a CPu cooler such as this, but I don't want to spoil my build with a CPU cooler blocking the view of everything.

Also, does such a big cooler damage the motherboard? Such a heavy CPU cooler has to bend something?

I know my Dark Rock Pro 3 overhangs the RAM, and it isn't heavy enough to damage anything if it's properly mounted. not sure about the non Pro version though

The cooler is designed to distribute its weight across the motherboard evenly, so I wouldn't worry about any bending.

The Dark Rock 3 might obstruct the view of your RAM but I'm not entirely sure. If I had to guess, chances are that it will.

It blocks 1st RAM slot, but you can lift fan if your case has space for it. First PCIe x1 slot is also kinda blocked, but thats normal for larger air coolers. Look some pics from Google to see how much space it takes on mobo. Thats what I use most of the time when I look answers to these questions.

Like said, don't worry about bending. Larger CPU coolers use backplates to distribute weight of cooler around mobo. When you have mobo tighten down and cooler tightly mounted, you'd need to drop whole case from over 1m to something to break.

If the DRP3, which is much bigger, doesn't overhang very much, then the DR3, which is a simgle-tower as opposed to dual-tower should be even less do.
