Hi LTT Community

I have a small problem around here,

I have a sound clip wich i really need back.

I Edited it out of a longer video. The program I used was Premiere.

It was always saved as yell.mp3 in music library in windows. I accidentally deleted it i guess but i really need it back.

I've tried running stellar phoenix windows data recovery on it but i could not find it.

Im really desperate of finding it, Does anyone have a suggestion.

Thanks

What was the video from? Home recording? Professional download? Prirated download?

Well you can try Recuva, funny but even with it being a free program, it performed better for me than Stellar and R-Studio which are paid options. I managed to get most of files that I deleted, but depending on the size, don't expect for it to be recovered 100%. Bigger it is, less chance it will work. Even if you manage to recover it, it might be slightly or completely damaged, even if it looks like  you managed to recover it.

And do it asap, just in case you don't overwrite it with another file.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Shadow Copy on?

Go to folder where that file is located and select properties. Look at previous versions. Select a older date and see if file is there.

Yes, the just copy and paste it to some where else.

No previous versions available

Getting kinda sad now....

Where is that file originally located, is it in a DropBox folder or a local folder on your PC? Previous version will only work on local folders. Not sure about DropBox folder and if it's been 30 days, it's most likely gone forever. Try system restore and go back to a previous date before it was deleted.

Did you delete the entire folder or just that file? Previous version will not bring back a entire folder just individual files within that folder.

Iirc, system restore doesn't restore personal files, only system files. Also iirc, it even says it won't touch them.

It won't modify current files, but can also restore personal files too.

This is the first time I'm hearing that. I don't know a single person that did that after Win XP. As far as I can see, all tech sites report that restore doesn't restore deleted files. Have you managed to retrieve them?
