Memory help

If it's just one stick, yes. You just won't be able to take advantage of dual channel on your motherboard 

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700  

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070

MOBO: ASUS Z370-F STRIX  

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2133MHz

If you want to do dual channel but only want 8gb, just go for 2x4gb and put them in the same colours on the board (Black and Black, Grey or Grey (colours may vary)). I run my memory in dual channel and always have, so I don't know what it's like to run in single channel.
